Jean Wyatt’s children, Tommy and Sarah, are missing from their home in the mountains of West Virginia. The police and FBI believe they were kidnapped. What nobody knows is the children’s disappearance is the result of something much more sinister than a kidnapping, and the force behind it is one of fathomless evil.
In ancient times, God moved the Garden of Eden to the remote mountainous location we know today as West Virginia. He moved the Garden to protect the Tree of Life from prying humans. This holy tree is the most prized object in the entire cosmos. If sinful man should eat the fruit of this tree, they would live forever, eternally separated from God with no chance of redemption. It was for this reason God cast Adam and Eve from the Garden.
Unlike humanity, Satan has found the Garden and is fully aware of the power this information holds. If he could only reintroduce mankind back into the Garden and tempt them to eat the fruit of the Tree of Life, they would live forever. God’s offer of eternal life to those who believe in his Son would lose its appeal, for humanity would already be immortal. Satan knows this is his last chance to defeat God’s plan for the redemption of all humanity through his Son, the Lord Jesus.
Satan’s initial efforts are met with disaster at the hands of the Viumbe, the powerful creatures God placed in the Garden to guard the Tree of Life. In 2010, Satan changes his tactics and attempts to introduce children into the Garden. He believes it will be easier to get children past the Viumbe.
Satan tricks Sarah and Tommy into entering the Garden. They find a land of breathtaking beauty where they are the only humans and animals talk. Amongst the first creatures they meet is Satan himself in the form of an enormous snake by the name of Snatch. His plan is to take Tommy and Sarah to the Great Tree and tempt them to eat of its fruit.
The children have an entirely different objective. They want only to escape from Snatch and find their way home to their parents. They manage a daring escape with the help of friendly animals Snatch failed to corrupt. Led by the lion Courageous and a band of warriors, the children flee from Satan who pursues them with a small army of his followers. In the end, Courageous and the children must stand and fight against a numerically superior enemy and overwhelming odds.
